We are currently in the fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, and the text for today's reading emphasizes meekness and humility. Jesus discusses the magnificence of His Father and the genuine profundity of His power. That His Father genuinely manifests Himself to people.
Every day, we had to deal with the demands of the outside world, our current circumstances, and perceived ideals of success and comfort. These call for an extensive amount of neglect and omission; we have a tendency to complicate matters; we frequently overlook those who helped us in achieving our objectives; and, worst of all, we wind up impressing those around us rather than gaining God's favor.
We are reminded today that humility is the key to real success. When the haze of material obligations dissipates, it will be clear that God is the source of everything you have accomplished in life. God does not display His superiority over us; rather, He merely resides among us, associating with the poor, the laborers, and the burden-bearers. He is aware of the pain felt by the afflicted in their hearts. He is more aware than anybody else that people make compromises in order to accomplish their ends.
Lord, help us to understand the importance of humility and meekness so that You can show us Your love and compassion; that our hearts can emulate it and carry on living in accordance with Your will.
Amen.
