Parish Renewal EXperiece (PREX)

HISTORY

First PREX Class started in the early 80s.  Sis Ria Santos is currently  in charge of the OLA  PREX Program at the same time ,  Vicariate Head, meaning overall Incharge of OLA and St Paul of the Cross  PREX Project Teams  under Fr Eymard of St Paul of the Cross. The OLA Team is ably supported by Sis Lorie Iglesias, Sis Tess. 

 

The last Sponsoring Class, was  PREX Class 77. 


Regular and Special Activities


Content of the PREX  Formation Program : Basic Catechesis and Review of the Life of faith of Catholics thus providing Renewal to active membership in the Parish.

 After the Sessions, Graduates are initiated into Parish Service through the various Ministry Organizations in OLA. 

  1. Current State: Mobilization Efforts are now underway for PREX Class 78 sponsored by PREX Class 77
  2. Other Activities of the Group:
  • Regular Training of Speakers Bureau Members by the Diocesan Team. 
  • Updating and Implementation  of the New PREX Program 
  •  Mobilizing  the Parish for the conduct of PREX Classes, given the limitations of the Pandemic.

Vision

*Our Vision is to bring about a revival of the true

 Christian spirit in our catholic faith, particularly among the El Shaddai DWXI PPFI members and followers,

*To raise up a true Christian family and a community of spirit-filled, generous, loving, victorious, joyful and united believers of God who care and share each other’s burdens and blessings for the glory of God, our heavenly Father, El Shaddai as described in Act 2: 42-47.


Mission 

*To share the light of the Lord Jesus Christ, the joy of our salivation and out faith in him through our own personal testimonies of the power of his word such as our conversion through repentance and deliverance from the bondage of sin and vices, the transformation from our old self-centered, destructive and confused lives to   new victorious lives in Jesus Christ and the healing of our broken relationships and physical alignments. 

*We want to  let the people know that God is alive, that He loves and cares for us, heal our diseases and deliver us from all our troubles if we repent of our sins, turn away from our wicked ways, and establish a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ who shall set our hearts on fire with the love of God and neighbour.


To pursue our Vision and Mission, we conduct fellowships and programs,  focused on the inspired proclamation of the living word of God and the Life Testimonies of people whose lives have been touched by Yahweh,  El Shaddai.


We utilize the modern tri-media technologies television, radio and print in addition, community chapter’s nationwide and international chapters abroad hold weekly prayer-meetings as a result of the enthusiasm of the prayer-partners to share with others the El Shaddai DWXI-PPFI’s spirit of faith, love and unity!

OLA Catechetical Ministry

History

Organized and managed on the Diocesan Level. 

Purpose

Responsible for the Faith Formation of Children and the Youth within the area of the  Diocesan Shrine and Parish of ur Lady of the Abandoned. 

Vision

  • A Christian Community of Catechists, united by the love of God, striving to become fully human and mature, wholeheartedly responding to the call of God;
  • Nourished by God’s Word, the sacraments and life of prayer,
  • Proclaiming in word and witnessing in the life of Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ, as its apostolic share in the continuation of His mission for the renewal of the Church in the Diocese of Antipolo in union with her Pastors.

Mission 

We, the Christian Community of Catechists in the Diocese  of Antipolo commit ourselves:

  • To grow together in love of God by loving and being sensitive to our needs and those of others
  • Give  our time, talent, resources  to respond fully to the call of God
  • To live a devoted  life of prayer, daily meditation of the Scriptures and meaningful celebration of the  sacraments especially the Eucharist , in the community
  • To remain faithful to our  vocation as Catechists even amidst sufferings, sharing in the Paschal Mystery of Christ
  • Love  our Bishops and Priests to work in union with them in their effort to renew the church through the  building of Basic Christian Communities
  • Constantly seek the will of the Father in everything we do by being open to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

Goal:

  • To strengthen the spiritual life of all members,  foster a healthy community life and nurture fidelity to the catechetical apostolate towards the united efforts with the Pastors of renewing the church in the Diocese of Antipolo.
  • Trusts of the catechetical commission  
  • To formulate and implement a catechetical program according to General Directory for Catechesis and the Vision of the Diocese and the Catechetical Commission.
  • To draw up a Diocesan Catechetical Formation Program according to the Catechists Basic Formation Program initiated by ECCCE that will produce catechists who are formed spiritually and professionally.
  • To deepen the commitment of the faithful, particularly to the Bishops and Parish Priests and to the Catechetics Commission.
  • To foster active and effective catechesis by helping the parishes with catechetical materials and serving as the information center for all those involved in the catechetical commission.

Basic tasks of the Organization 

  • Conduct Christian Living Classes in Selected Public Elementary and High Schools in the designated schools of  OLA. 
  • Prepare Students for Penance,First Holy Communion, and Confirmation
  • Regular and Special Activities
  • Conduct Pre-Cana Seminars. 
  • Help in the Preparation of Parents for Baptism and Confirmation.

BIBLIARASAL

Bibliarasal is a Bible Study Group started by  Episcopal Commission of Biblical Apostolate. ECBA  .In OLA it is actively managed a Core Team who belongs  to various Organizations in OLA.

That all pastoral work be animáted by the Word of God. 


Since “ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ”, making the Bible the inspiration of every ordinary and extraordinary pastoral outreach will lead to a greater awareness of the person of Christ, who reveals the Father and is the fullness of Divine Revelation.

NUESTRA SEŃORA DELOS DESAMPARADOS CURSILLO CORE GROUP

Background:

In mid-April of 2014, Rev, Fr. Reynante U. Tolentino, Rector of OLA  Shrine  called for a  a meeting of all Cursillo Groups of Marikina composed of 9 teams:

  1. Quo Vadis Apostolate Team            
  2. Manus Dei Apostolate Team            
  3. Ultra IV Apostolate Team            
  4. San Jose Manggagawa Cursillo Team
  5. Warriors of God Cursillo Team
  6. Virgen Delas Angustia Cursillo Family
  7. Our Lady of Guadalupe Cursillo Team
  8. Reyna Delas Flores Cursillo Team
  9. Holy Family Cursillo Team

First Tuesday of June 2014, First Grand Ultreya for the Opening of Nuestra Seńora Delos Desamparados Cursillo Core Group

Year 2015 of January, Coro Desamparados Cursillo was organized and the very First Saturday Month Mass  was  set.

May of 2016, Cursillo’s Desamparados Youth Team was created to augment the attendance of the weekly  Ultreya coming from the 9 Cursillo Teams.

And up to the present times, meetings, dialogs, fellowship, retreat and seminars are continuing to reach as many believers as possible. 


Purpose

To contribute to the building of Christian communities by drawing them closer to God wherever and whenever possible in neighborhoods, parishes, work situations and other places where people reside.


Vision

To achieve the goal of Bishop Juan Hervas (Founder) of Cursillo in Christianity. January 7, 1949 conducted at Palmas De Mallorca.

To encourage the Youth towards Values Formation and Spiritual Development.

To be a servant of God in their respective Parishes.


Mission 

To conduct Cursillo Classes, Seminars and Retreats. 

To train and form members Spiritually and in all aspects of their life. .

To encourage team work in service.

To get involved in church activities.
