VOCATION MINISTRY

History / Background 

Vocation Ministry was organized  to inspire parishes to get involved in vocation work, to help new ministry get organized by providing  clear guidelines  of the ministry and to reinvigorate longstanding committees  w/ fresh ideas to  attract new workers to His vineyard. 

Vision

  1. To be committed parish member  deeply aware of the  challenges of  vocation.
  2. To be active promoters of vocation keeping  in mind the realities and conditions in present day society.
  3.  To have enlightened Parishioners openly supporting the causes of the parish in terms of vocations.

Mission 

  1. To provide adequate information on vocation through different Channels.
  2. To collaborate with other groups and organizations in the realization of programs.
  3. To support candidates and aspirants in their spiritual and financial needs.     

Purpose

To Encourage young Men for Priesthood and assisting financial help for the seminarians of OLA Parish.


Regular and Special Activities

  1. Vocation Festival  (Regional/ Diocesan Level) (October - November)
  2. Teambuilidng / Outing held yearly during the 1st Week of August
  3. Seminary Visitation (Parish Level) John Paul II Minor Seminary, San Carlos Seminary, Christ the King during the months of April and May. 
  4. Visita Iglesia (Parish Level) March. 
  5. Vocation Month (OLA Vicariate Level) during the 1st Saturday of the Month (Aug-Dec)
  6. Diocesan Meeting 
  7. 2nd Saturday Meeting  (Parish Level) 
  8. Christmas & Lenten Season Retreat

St. John Marie Vianney Vocation Ministry

History

Beginnings is traced to  First Organization of OLA named after St. John Mary Vianney, Patron of Parish Priest.

Organized for encouraging young Men to enter the Priesthood and assisting them in their  financial needs . 



Vision Mission Values:

  • Promote vocation in OLA;
  • Giving financial aid to the seminarians of OLA;
  • Pagpapahalaga para saBokasyon ng pagpapari;
  • Enlighten both parents and seminariansabout  the Priestly Vocation. 

Regular and Special Activities

  • Regular Activities and Special Event activities:
  • Devotion to St. John Marie Vianney every first Saturday of the month
  • August 4 , Annual Celebration of the Feast of St. John Marie Vianney  through the celebration of the Holy Mass
  • Yearly  Visit to the  Home for the Aged or Orphanage 
  • Station of the Cross at Lent Season
  • Annual Pilgrimage 
  • Vicariate Vocation Mass (second Saturday of the Month)
  • Visit to the Seminary with the Grade VI Boys who are  planning to enter the Seminary. 
  • Attendance during Ordinations of New Priests
